Declaring or Withdrawal From Honors in the Major

To Declare Honors in the Major

  • Students must first declare their intended major (via the Major/Certificate Declaration/Cancellation Form); only then can they declare Honors in that Major (via the L&S Honors in the Major Declaration/Cancellation Form).
  • Students can obtain the Honors in the Major Declaration form from the L&S Honors Program Office (Washburn Observatory).
  • When complete, students should return the form to the Honors Program office. Once the form is processed, the Honors office will return one copy to the student's department for its records.

To Cancel Honors in the Major

Students can obtain the L&S Honors in the Major Withdrawal Form from the L&S Honors Program Office (Washburn Observatory). They can complete the withdrawal form in the Honors office; no department signature is required.

It often takes two to four weeks to make changes to a student's record. The Honors Program will verify that the withdrawal has been completed via email.
