UW Lakeshore Preserve Cleanup
October 2, 2022 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
Please consider joining your fellow L&S Honors students as they enjoy the AMAZING early fall color while committing to a bit of fall cleanup in the UW Lakeshore Preserve. We will be doing ecological restoration work in the Preserve’s woodlands by removing invasive plants and collecting native prairie seeds!
The event will take place on Sunday, October 2, and will run from 10-12 PM.
We will meet at the Preserve’s Frautschi Point parking lot.
- The Frautschi Point parking lot has a sign that says “Frautschi Point” and is located at the sharp bend in Lake Mendota Drive (see map).
- The free 80 bus makes 2 stops near here.
- In case anyone is driving…the address for the Frautschi Point lot (2662 Lake Mendota Drive) does not work in navigation systems, but it will get you very close. This address will actually take you closer to another parking lot with a long downhill driveway. This is not the parking lot that you want.
- If anyone is lost, please call the Volunteer and Outreach Coordinator for the UW Lakeshore Preserve, Bryn Scriver, at 608-220-5560
Volunteers should read “how to dress” for volunteering.
Note: There are no restroom facilities near here. Please use the restroom before arriving.
If you would like to participate, we encourage you to RSVP with this link. Space is limited to the first twenty students!
