Students Learn About Research

On the evening of Wednesday, October 26, the L&S Honors Program welcomed faculty members from various academic fields to discuss research, and in particular, how research experiences may differ across disciplines. This special Wednesday @ Washburn event was fittingly called “Research Across Disciplines.”

Throughout the panel event, students were given a crash course on how to find research opportunities, approach faculty members, and build their skills and knowledge to prepare them to be successful in research-focused environments.

Over twenty students squeezed into the Washburn Observatory library to hear from our three wonderful faculty panelists: Mike Swift (Computer Sciences), Brandon Bloch (History), and Morgan Shields (Kinesiology). Thank you to all who participated!
