Honors in the Liberal Arts Study Abroad Petition Form

This form should be used to petition for a study abroad course to count toward remaining Honors in the Liberal Arts requirements. We encourage you to meet with an Honors advisor before going abroad and if you have any questions about your petition. Please submit this form after the relevant course is completed and has been posted to your UW-Madison record.

A course can count toward Honors breadth requirements in a maximum of one breadth area. The Honors petition process does not impact how a course counts toward general L&S degree or major requirements.

Write 1-2 paragraphs in which you reflect on how this course and/or your study abroad program overall was an "Honors-like" experience. Include specific illustrations or examples. (How did you challenge yourself or go beyond minimum requirements? How did you engage meaningfully in your learning with instructors and peers? What connections did you make that were notably broad and/or deep compared to your prior experiences?)
