Wednesday @ Washburn filled with stars!
On Wednesday, May 4, Honors students and guests gathered in the library at Washburn Observatory for the final Wednesday @ Washburn event of the 2021-22 academic year. Those that attended were treated to a delicious meal and remarks from both Jim Lattis, the Co-founder and Director of UW Space Place, and the College of Letters & Science Dean Eric Wilcots! Each was able to share a wealth of information about their histories and areas of expertise within the field of Astronomy, while also answering a variety of questions.
After remarks concluded around 8:30 PM, the entire group was able to head up to the telescope for a viewing and tour of the observatory. A wonderful night was had by all!
